Public Relations Assistant

Margaret Whitehorn, Public Relations Assistant Manager
Compensation:
$12/hour undergraduate, $15/hour graduate

Duties: With PR Assistant Manager, plan student publicity campaigns; disseminate information about the Center and its programs through emails; posting information online; and by posting print notices/fliers on bulletin boards, and other places on campus.  Write and send announcements and PSAs (public service announcements); visit student groups and department offices; compile and organize information about exhibitions, events, artists.  Research student groups, campus publications, radio stations, etc.  Organize and prepare photos and information for publicity use.  Write and submit notices for student publications and distribute materials to students.  Help keep publicity mailing lists up-to-date and assist with mailings. Make copies of articles for PR files.

Qualifications: Proficiency with word processing program/s.  Excellent written and oral communication.  Office experience required, PR experience desirable.  Work well with others.  Able to work on an individual basis, self motivated.  Preferred:  applicants interested in the arts, photography, and / or public relations/marketing.

This position is open only to Stanford University students.  Preference will be given to candidates who will continue at Stanford for a year or more.  Being in a work-study program is an asset but not required.
