The Champagne Preview is a view-only (no sales) affair, with a panel of experts to give guidance to those interested in collecting art and spotting the unusual, and a silent auction with unique items hand chosen by the experts.

Alan Fausel, who regularly appears on “Antiques Roadshow” produced by PBS, will serve on the panel in addition to his role as guest speaker.  Fausel has nearly 30 years of art world experience as a scholar, curator, and appraiser.  A Stanford alumnus, he began his curatorial career at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.  He currently oversees Bonhams Fine Arts department in New York.  As an appraiser, he specializes in paintings and drawings from Old Master to Modern.

Other guest experts include Steve Yvaska, author of "The Seasoned Collector" for the San Jose Mercury News; Gail Young, an active Cantor Arts Center member and noteable contemporary art collector; Ron Morgan, author and floral designer, who will also give a floral demonstration that will be sold in the evening's silent auction; and Sven Bruntjen.

Highlights of the evening include a preview of the 10 departments that make up the wonderful objects for sale at Treasure Market, plus first view of the collection of unique works in the Mannequin Project and the chance to meet the artists who created this body of work.  Silent auction bidding, which includes the Mannequin Project creations, begins Thursday and closes on Friday.
