Description

Spring Quarter Museum Nights for Stanford Students

Film and multi-disciplinary artist Carlos Motta will discuss his practice with Stanford student respondents in this exciting evening event!

Motta's work documents the social conditions and political struggles of sexual, gender, and ethnic minority communities in order to challenge normative discourses through visibility and self-representation. One of his works, The Crossing, which documents the migration experience of eleven LGBTQ refugees from their homelands to the Netherlands, is currently on view at the Cantor Arts Center.

Three students who attend the event will also be randomly selected to receive a $25 Redbubble gift card.

This event is presented in conjunction with the exhibition, When Home Won't Let You Stay: Migration through Contemporary Art, which will be on view until May 30, 2021.

You can RSVP here. Please join the conversation on May 13!
