Plan a Self-Guided Tour

Self-guided tours of ten or more people are asked to register in advance so that our staff may prepare. Self-guided groups may not exceed 40 individuals and are asked to view galleries in groups of no more than ten at a time. Groups with participants under the age of 18 are required to have at least one adult supervising every ten minors. The Cantor Arts Center is located at the intersection of Museum Way and Lomita Drive on the Stanford campus, northwest of The Oval and the Main Quad. The Cantor is just one block from Palm Drive, facing the Bing Concert Hall.

Directions from Highway 101

Take the Embarcadero exit west and cross El Camino Real. Stay in the left lane as you cross El Camino. The street becomes Galvez Drive. Turn right on Campus Drive. Turn left on Palm Drive and continue until the next intersection, which is Museum Way. Turn right on Museum Way and you will be facing the main entrance to the Center.

Directions from Highway 280

Take Alpine Road exit east. Turn right on Junipero Serra, then left on Campus Drive West. Follow Campus Drive until you reach Palm Drive. Turn right on Palm Drive, continue to Museum Way. Turn right on Museum Way and you will be facing the main entrance to the Center.

Cantor Arts Center General Parking Information

Visitor parking is available in front of the Cantor on Lomita Drive. Weekdays until 4PM, visitors pay $2.50 per hour at the black boxes. After 4PM on weekdays, parking is free in visitor spaces and in A and C permit spaces. Saturday and Sunday parking is free all day, including in A and C permit spaces. Parking is also free all day on weekends in visitor spaces. There is also a parking structure at Roth Way and Campus Drive with paid visitor parking spaces. If you are visiting the Stanford Campus and would like to purchase a day-long parking permit, please contact the Parking and Transportation Services office at 650-723-9362 or visit the Parking and Transportation Services website.

Holiday Parking Information

During Stanford University holidays, parking enforcement is suspended in all "C" parking lots, all visitor/meter spaces, and in most "A" lots, with the exception of parking facilities serving the hospital and School of Medicine. Parking is free along Lomita Drive and in the ‘C’ and ‘A’ lots off Museum Way. Parking in Roth Way Garage (Campus Dr. and Roth Way) is $2.50 per hour.

Papua New Guinea Sculpture Garden Parking Information

Limited metered parking is available at the nearby Lagunita Court and Roble Hall lot on Santa Teresa, and there is extensive metered parking at Tresidder Union.

Bay Area Transit

Stanford University is accessible by numerous public transportation agencies including Caltrain, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Agency, SamTrans, Bay Area Rapid Transit, Altamont Commuter Express, Dumbarton Express, and the East Bay Express. The Stanford Marguerite

The Marguerite is a free weekday shuttle system that picks up and delivers passengers to and from nearby public transportation stations and university locations, including the Cantor Arts Center, Rodin Sculpture Garden, and Papua New Guinea Sculpture Garden. Their Transportation Office can be reached by phone at 650-723-9362. Most Marguerite service will be suspended from Dec. 21 through Jan. 3 for the university winter break.
