We welcome class meetings in the Cantor galleries. Providing advance notice will assure that your class is not interrupted by other touring groups and that the collection area and artworks you wish to see are available. Use the request form below to make arrangements for either a self-guided tour or a tour led by a trained art historian on staff.
The Cantor has two classrooms devoted to studying artworks not currently on view. Although many important works are exhibited in the museum’s galleries, the vast majority of the Cantor's encyclopedic collection is kept in storage. To facilitate teaching and research related to our collection, we invite professors, visiting scholars, lecturers, and leaders of student and research groups to request objects from storage and hold occasional sessions in our classrooms. Faculty are especially encouraged to hold their classes, sections, and seminars in our classrooms, and may even propose entire courses to be hosted at the museum. In each of these cases, our staff of art historians will collaborate with you to design and implement an impactful, interdisciplinary educational experience.
